The Xoloitzcuintle is an ancient breed. It is a truly hairless dog with
only short, coarse hair on the top of the head, the end of the tail and on
the feet. Some have no hair at all.
The breed comes in three sizes with Mexico and FCI countries recognizing;
Standard, Intermediate and Miniature.
As we become an AKC breed, they may
recognize us as Standard, Miniature and Toy.
Different Clubs have different standards as to what sizes are acceptable
within the varieties.
There is also a coated Xoloitzcuintle. It has a short coat, close to the
body.
It may not be recognizable as a Xolo on first glance, but lined up side by
side, the similarities can be seen.
The Xolo can be any color or combination of colors, but due to it's ability
to sunburn any white or pink markings, solid colors and minimal white are
preffered.
I hope you enjoy your stay at Shida Xoloitzcuintle

My start into the breed
of Xoloitzcuintle has been slow but very eventful.
I aquired my first dog early in 2003.
Mex BIS CH, ARBA BIS Master CH, IABCA BIS CH,
XCA Multi BISS
CH, UKC CH,
Wld-07, FCI Intl Ch, Ch of the Americas and Caribe, XCUSA BISS CH
Wawahki (Hoover) Mex. FCI, CD, RN, CGC

I can't thank Patty Hoover enough to place this beautiful dog in my care.
Wawahki is as beautiful inside as she is outside and she has a heart of gold.
Special thanks to her caretakers Debra & David Melitz
